Mine Electric Locomotives Working Principle

Mine electric locomotives are power taken from the circuit by the electric bow. When the motor car is running, the pantograph slides along the overhead line. The power supply mode of the overhead electric motor vehicle is that the high-voltage cable led by the central substation supplies the three-phase AC power supply of the traction converter, is stepped down by the transformer, and then sent to the converter device through the low-voltage cable to change the alternating current into DC. The positive pole of the DC power supply is connected to the overhead line conductor through the power supply cable. The contact point becomes the power supply point, and the negative pole is connected to the track through the power return cable. The corresponding contact point is called the power return point. During operation, the upper part of the motor car running along the track receives power through the overhead line of the pantograph, and the lower part uses the wheel to contact the track to form a circuit, so that the traction motor works, so that the mine electric locomotives pull the mine car.


It can be seen that the running track of mine electric locomotives is also the wire of the current loop. In order to reduce the voltage drop of the traction grid, wires or copper connections are typically used at the joints of the rails to reduce the electrical resistance at the seams.
